Due to The King Is Blind‘s regular bassist Ceri Monger having prior commitments throughout October with New Model Army, the East Anglian juggernauts will be enlisting their old friend Matthew Adnett to perform earth-shattering, bowel-battering 4-strings on the upcoming Akercocke dates.
Ceri remains an essential, full time member of The King Is Blind and his next TKIB duties will be to continue finalising new material in anticipation of the band’s sophomore album, due in 2017, once the tour is completed.
Guitarist Lee James Appleton added: “You will know Matt from his remarkable guitar work, previously for Obscene Entity and now SHRINES (both of whom supported TKIB at their London headline performance earlier in the year) and we owe him a huge debt for stepping in to help us out on this run of shows – thank you, sir!
In the meantime, don’t hesitate, do as the boys in Akercocke say and get your tickets sorted for these gigs pronto.”
The King Is Blind perform as special guests to death metal overlords Akercocke at their upcoming shows in London, Southampton, Bristol, Sheffield and Manchester.
Tickets are available directly from the venues, from SeeTickets and most other reputable (and some disreputable) online ticket sites.
Shrines’ excellent debut album, ‘Shrines’ is available via Apocalyptic Witchcraft Recordings. To check it out, give their Bandcamp site a visit.
